The San Diego Chargers have met with USC C Marcus Martin before the NFL Draft, per National Football Post. Martin was a 3-year starter with the Trojans and began his college career as a left guard. He has been projected to be selected in the 2nd or 3rd round of the draft and he would make for a nice selection by the Chargers in the draft.

Martin could come in and help the Chargers immediately if he were taken in the draft. He would be depth at the guard and center positions and could compete for a starting job. He could take either of the starting guard jobs in camp. With Nick Hardwick winding down his career, Martin would be the next in line to step in as the starter at that position. The future would already be on the roster.

Offenses are built with the men that do the dirty work up front. The more studs that we can find to play up front, the more this offense will be able to dominate teams in the run game and in the passing game.

I would love having this guy on the offensive line for years to come. He would bring more nastiness to that offensive line.
