The San Diego Chargers have released DT Byron Jerideau and that will leave the team with just Sean Lissemore and Kwame Geathers as the only nose tackles on the roster, per Eric Williams. Either the team is going to bring in a nose tackle through free agency or they are going to add some depth through the draft.

OR the team is switching to a 4-3 defense… but we already know the answer to that.

The move doesn’t make too much sense for the Chargers at this time. We will have to see who the team plans on bringing in during the draft or during the rest of free agency.

There are a few veterans available in free agency and I am sure the team has thought about bringing in one of those guys in. Lissemore is the projected starter on defense and the team will put their trust in him. Geathers was kept on the roster all last season and the team must see some potential in him, but there still is not enough depth on this roster. We will have to see what rabbits Tom Telesco can pull out of his hat for this one.
