Signs are pointing to the San Diego Chargers rolling with Sean Lissemore as the starter at the nose tackle position going into the 2014 season, but why wouldn’t the Chargers want to add some depth at the position? Why wouldn’t the Chargers want to add some competition to the position?

The team went into the 2013 season with Cam Thomas as the starter and there was nobody else on the roster that could compete for the gig until he started slipping. Lissmore stepped in and stole the job from him in the middle of the year, but the team should find someone that can compete for that starting gig right from training camp. There are a few veterans that are available that could push for some playing time.

Evan Silva listed his top defensive tackles that are available in free agency and the team should investigate what it will take to bring one of them onto the roster:

Free agent DTs left: 1. Kevin Williams 2. Ryan Pickett 3. Terrence Cody 4. Johnny Jolly 5. Colin Cole 6. Aubrayo Franklin 7. Isaac Sopoaga.

Sean Lissemore could be a solid player at the nose tackle spot, but it would be nice to bring in a vet that has handled the everyday duties that can come in and give the youngster a few more tips. I don’t mind if Lissemore is trusted with the job, I just think that there should be some insurance behind him.

Which one of the listed guys would you want to bring on?
