Tom Telesco was present at the Pro Day for Indiana and he was likely looking at receiver Cody Latimer during drills, per Gil Brandt. Latimer was present at the combine, but he wasn’t able to do much since he is coming back from a broken foot. He did get to the bench at the combine and led all receivers with 23 reps.
Latimer was able to run the 40 at his Pro Day though and he finished with a 4.44 second 40-yard dash. His foot is getting better, but he still can only run in a straight line at this time. He will be a prospect that we will have to keep our eyes on. He will be slipping down the draft a little bit with the injury and failure to get on the field for the combines, but he still possesses some good attributes that can help the Chargers offense.
Latimer has that big body that people love. He stands at 6-foot-3 and 215 pounds. He has some speed to go with that size and showed off his strength on the bench. He is a good blocker and could help the team in the red zone with his size. He currently is projected to be taken in the 5th round, but he has a lot of nice tools to work with and could be someone the team can develop into a playmaker.
