Steve Smith made a list of teams that he would like to get traded to and sent it over to the front office. The San Diego Chargers are one of the teams that he would be interested in joining. He has said it before, but will the Chargers make a move for the veteran wide receiver?

The Chargers may want to bring Smith onto the roster, but a trade will not be the way that it happens. No teams was going to trade for a receiver at his age that costs $7 million against the cap.

Here are the 5 teams that were listed on Steve Smith’s list according to the Charlotte Observer: Dallas, New England, Baltimore, Tampa Bay and San Diego.

We aren’t going to use $7 million of our cap on him. We might as well have gone after Golden Tate if that were the case.

If we are going to use $7 million in free agency, we might as well spend that money on a corner that can help out the defense. Spend it on a nose tackle that can help out our defense. If we get that, then we can grab a wide receiver at the top of the draft.

The Panthers are expected to release Steve Smith today and the Chargers could make their pitch to him. His interest is already there.
