The San Diego Chargers countered all the signings of the Denver Broncos by signing TE David Johnson, per Michael Gehlken. Johnson is 6-foot-2, 260 pounds and will be looking to maul you in the running game. He also has experience at tight end. It seems that we are going to combat the defense that the Broncos are building with an offense that can pound the rock.

Our best defense last season was the ball control offense. We had an identity last season of pounding the rock and it looks like we are building on that identity.

With Ryan Mathews and Donald Brown in the backfield, the Chargers added another player on the roster that can help in the running game.

Johnson spend the last 4 years with the Steelers offense and came out of Arkansas State. Not an exciting signing for the fans, but another player on the Chargers that will understand his role and will do work. Hold your applause for later though. I wonder if this means we part with John Phillips.
