The San Diego Chargers are again quiet at the opening of the free agency period. They were quiet during the last free agency period as well. The only excitement that we were able to receive at this moment was a fake report on the Chargers signing CB Carlos Rogers. The fake twitter account didn’t even spell Rogers name correctly, but it duped the San Diego reporters and they tweeted it all out there for everyone to see.
The opening of free agency is when all the big money is spent and the big name free agents get picked up by different teams. Tom Telesco, once again is playing the waiting game while other teams are making it rain with their dough. He is sitting back and examining what is left after all the dominos fall.
At this point, Carlos Rogers is still availale. Captain Munnerlyn is available. At nose tackle, Soliai and other big names are signing on with different teams, but there still are options for the Chargers to pick up. Those options should come at a cheaper bill with all teams already signing their nose tackles. The Chargers should be able to lock up some nice talent again in the free agency game.
It seems that big money is not getting spent on wide receivers in this free agency period as well. The Chargers might be able to pick up some nice talent at the postion.
Sitting and waiting and the Chargers will get their pick of players that are left standing.
