This post is not to say that we should sign Sproles onto the Chargers, just know that this is of interest to Chargers fans. We all love Darren Sproles still and know what he brought to the roster when he was on the team.
We all love that little lightning bug when he was with the Chargers. I know that a ton of you would love for Sproles to return to the Chargers, but that just is not going to happen. We have a running back on the roster already that is doing his job and is younger. Danny Woodhead is our new Darren Sproles. He doesn’t have that same ability to take it to the house, but he is very workmanlike and fills the role that is needed on the Chargers offense.
Sproles was an awesome member of those golden years and Woodhead is the new guy on town. Woodhead is our new little dude that makes things happen on offense.
Some of you will say that the team should just sign Sproles and keep Woodhead, but when are they going to get on the field? Place Sproles out at wide receiver. NO!
It sounds like an awesome player to pick up, but with Danny Woodhead already on the roster, there is no way that the Chargers need Sproles. We can all make reasons on why the Chargers should go after him, but in the end it just doesn’t make sense.
In reallity, Sproles will likely end up with the Patriots or with the Jets.
