First round picks should be focused on the top three positions of need regardless of what team you are. With Louis Nix mocked to go way earlier then pick 25 in the draft, it leaves us thinking who should we get?

Dee Ford, Jason Verrett or even Gabe Jackson are all possibilities. They all would seem like very good picks. Outside Linebackers are not a need at this point in time, so sorry to Dee Ford. Cornerback are in dire need, but this is a deep draft of corners so let’s wait around for that selection. If we have to we can trade up a couple spots to get that corner we want in the later rounds. Offensive guard might be a tough one, but by the time the NFL Draft comes around we should be able to make some changes and sign couple offensive line help.

So now it brings me to safety  his name is DEONE BUCANNON, standing at 6’1, 215 pounds. Mr Bucannon is a straight beast, 114 total tackles, 5 interceptions as a senior  and 1 INT in the Gildan New Mexico Bowl game. He ran 4.49-second 40, with a bench press of 19 reps.

In the box safety or a deep zone, it doesn’t matter. He is an instant playmaker and run-stuffer. That is something we been missing since… not Kiel… not Hart… but since Ronny Harrison. Go over the middle and he will pop you type safety. Marcus Gilchrist can cover the tight end and let Eric Weddle roam the yard more than he did last year.

Bucannon would be a huge upgrade in the secondary. Those two positions would be good for the next couple of years.
