Mel Kiper released his latest mock draft on ESPN and here is who he has selected for the San Diego Chargers:

25 Marcus Roberson * San Diego Chargers (9-7)
COLLEGE: Florida AGE: 21 HT: 6-0 WT: 195 POS: CB

Analysis: The Chargers did a pretty good job of scheming their way around some holes at corner during the late-season run, but there’s no question they could use another good cornerback (or two), particularly because I think that defensive line and pass rush could take another step forward next season. Roberson can get a little lackadaisical, but it can also look easy for him out there because he has good instincts and a sense of where routes are going. He has long arms and can get his hands on the ball. He simply needs to be more physical against the run and grab a little less in coverage.

The Chargers need help in the secondary and everyone has the Chargers selecting a corner. Roberson could help the team immediately and would likely get the start opposite of Shareece Wright.

Roberson would be a solid player to have in the first. The team needs all the help that they can get in the secondary and he has some good size.

I like how Kiper says that we could use a good corner… or two. We should grab a few people in the secondary. Why not draft a safety in the next round?

What do you all think of Roberson as the possible draft choice?
