The San Diego Chargers will need some help in the secondary from this coming draft. Luckily, this draft has a lot of talent in the secondary. There should be plenty of options for the Chargers to select in the middle rounds.

One of the players that the Chargers scouts were interviewing during the Senior Bowl was Northern Illinois DB Jimmie Ward. Ward is a projected 3rd round selection. He measures in at 5-foot-11, 191 pounds and plays the safety position. He has done well during the Senior Bowl practices this week:

From what I saw tonight, Jimmie Ward might be the best CB at the Senior Bowl. Already there at S.

Hard to dislike NIU safety Jimmie Ward. Versatility, sticky coverage, and plays with some physicality. Handled bigger bodies well in covg.

The Chargers will need to find some players for that secondary. That will be an area that fans will be watching throughout the offseason. Who will the Chargers bring in for some help? Will it be Jimmie Ward?
