Have you looked at our opponents for the 2014 season? Just look at the Championship games this weekend and know that the Chargers will be playing against all 4 of those teams (San Francisco 49ers, Seattle Seahawks, Denver Broncos, New England Patriots) next season. Whoever goes to the Super Bowl, we will be playing the winner and the loser.

We will also be playing the Super Bowl champion from the previous season (Baltimore Ravens). Our schedule is going to be rough. Here are the teams that we are playing.

HOME
Denver Broncos
Kansas city Chiefs
Oakland Raiders
New England Patriots
New York Jets
Seattle Seahawks
St Louis Rams
Jacksonville Jaguars

ROAD
Denver Broncos
Kansas city Chiefs
Oakland Raiders
Buffalo Bills
Miami Dolphins
Arizona Cardinals
San Francisco 49ers
Baltimore Ravens

There are not many easy games on that schedule. With the AFC West getting better in competition, it will be even tougher to get to the playoffs. We can’t afford to giveaway games like we did last season.

There are only 4 teams on that schedule that had a losing record (Jacksonville Jaguars, St. Louis Rams, Oakland Raiders, Buffalo Bills)! FOUR! Luckily we get to face the Raiders twice a year… and that wasn’t a gimme this season.
