Mel Kiper made his first mock draft of the offseason and here is who he had the Chargers selecting with the 25th selection in the draft:

Bradley Roby *San Diego Chargers (9-7)
COLLEGE: Ohio St.AGE: 21HT: 5-11WT: 192POS: CB

Analysis: Roby isn’t yet a complete package at cornerback, but he has top-end speed and quickness, with fluid hips that allow him to turn and run with any kind of receiver. Where he needs to improve is in his ball skills and in not grabbing too much, which will cause him to draw too many flags at the NFL level. But with refinement he can be really good. San Diego was leaky in the secondary all season and could use a talent upgrade.

Everyone knows the Chargers need in the secondary. The team struggled in coverage this year, as was shown on the team’s inability to stop the Broncos on 3rd and 17.

Roby would compete for a starting job with the Chargers. Shareece Wright looks locked in as one starting corner and Roby would compete for the starting gig opposite of him. He has a lot of potential, but playing corner in the league as a rookie is a big step for a lot of players coming out of college. Can he make that step?
