San Diego Chargers WR Keenan Allen has won the offensive rookie of the year award, voted on by Pro Football Writers of America. Allen deserves the recognition for his outstanding year this season. He was a big reason for the Chargers rise on offense. He was a big reason for the success of Philip Rivers. He was a big reason the team was able to make a run at the end of the season.
With the injuries that the Chargers suffered at the wide receiver position early in the year, Allen was asked to step in as a starter and he made big play after big play. He will be a huge asset going forward and the team will look to find players that can compliment him on offense.
Allen was drafted by the Chargers in the 3rd round after all the teams had passed on him because of his lack of speed and an injury he had in college. He came back strong this season and showed the rest of the teams in the league that they made a mistake for passing on him.
The future looks bright with Allen catching balls from Philip Rivers. Look forward to seeing what he will do next season.
