San Diego Chargers WR Keenan Allen and RT D.J. Fluker were selected to the 2013 All-Rookie Team by Pro Football Writers of America. Tom Telesco did an excellent job of stacking this team with young talent from the draft. With Fluker and Allen on the roster, the offense has a couple of cornerstones to build off of in the future. The future is looking bright.
Telesco also selected Manti Te’o in that draft and he should be a solid starter for the team in the next few years. He started out slow in his rookie year, but as he was getting more comfortable on the field he was able to become more of a playmaker. He wasn’t selected to the All-Rookie team, but he should be a solid piece moving forward.
It is good to see some rookies getting recognition on the Chargers roster. Both Fluker and Allen had been influential in the team’s turnaround.
Going into this years draft, the expectations are going to be high. After pulling in that haul last offseason, the fans will be looking for another excellent class of rookies.
