A lot has been made of what the Chargers have been able to do against the Broncos and what they will need to do again. We all know that the Chargers will have to milk that clock out. That is one of the keys to the game. Here are some other keys for the Chargers in the game.
No Turnovers on Offense
We can’t afford to make these kind of mistakes on offense. We saw what it did to the Cincinnati Bengals last weekend. We can’t give Peyton Manning and that offense a short field or extra possessions. We have to execute on offense.
Score touchdowns in the red zone
When we get down to that part of the field, we will need to punch it in for a touchdown. Putting up a bunch of 3s on the scoreboard will just keep the Broncos hanging around and one big play can get them back into the game. Scores 7s!
Stay Loose
The Chargers played loose against the Bengals and it worked to our advantage. The Broncos have all the pressure to win this game. We need to keep that pressure on them and let them fold under that pressure.
Force Turnovers
We need to force a turnover or two on defense in order to pull this thing off. We were able to force turnovers against Peyton Manning and against his teams in the past and we will be looking to do it on Sunday. It doesn’t even have to be a Peyton Manning interception. We can force a fumble on his running backs or receivers or to his kick returners. Any turnover works. Win that turnover battle and we will win this game.
