The San Diego Chargers practice report came out today and Nick Hardwick is still sidelined with the concussion. His status for the game will depend on if he is able to pass the concussion tests. With him still sidelined, there has to be concern on his status for the game against the Denver Broncos.

If Hardwick has to sit on the sidelines in street clothes on Sunday, Rich Ohrnberger would get the start at center. He filled in for Hardwick in Cincinnati and played solid for his time in there. If the Chargers are concerned about Hardwick’s status for Sunday, shouldn’t they sign someone on the roster as a possible backup to Ohrnberger? We don’t have anyone else on the roster to fill in at that spot and we would want someone that has some familiarity to the playbook.

D.J. Fluker watched practice yesterday, but was back on the practice field today. He got some rest for his bad ankle.

Jeromey Clary injured his shoulder yesterday during practice and sat out of practice today. There shouln’t be concern on Clary’s status since he would get on the field on Sunday if he didn’t have a shoulder.

Ryan Mathews was on the sideline again for practice, but is expected to be back in the game on Friday. Great news!

Eric Weddle took the day off to get some rest yesterday and was back on the practice field as well.
