San Diego Chargers S Eric Weddle has been selected as a second team “All-Pro” player by the league this season. Kansas City Chiefs S Eric Berry and Seattle Seahawks S Earl Thomas were selected as the first team safeties on the roster. Weddle was selected on the first-team All-Pro in 2012.
Weddle is known as one of the top safeties in the league. He has been asked to do a variety of different things this season and has had mixed results. He has played up closer to the line of scrimmage in order to help deal with the injuries that we have had at the linebacker position. With the linebackers back to full health, he has gone back to roaming around a little more in the secondary. Weddle has also helped out with the special teams this season. Whatever the team needs, Weddle will put his pride behind him and do the best he can to get the job done.
Weddle will need to make some plays again on Sunday in order for the Chargers to move to the next round in the playoffs.
