Ryan Mathews Should Have Been In The Pro Bowl

Players were all selected for the Pro Bowl on Friday night and there were a few snubs around the league. One of the snubs on the Chargers roster was RB Ryan Mathews. Mathews has gained back a ton of respect this season with Chargers fans, but I am not sure if his reputation has changed around the league yet. That reputation of a fumbling China Doll still probably is lingering around him.
So many things have turned around for him this season. He has a nose for the end zone. He is running with toughness and he is one of the leaders in the NFL in rushing. He should have been voted onto the roster. He is a huge asset to our top-notch offense.
Sadly, the Pro Bowl only selected 6 running backs onto their roster and there just is not enough room for Mathews on the roster. All 6 of the backs that were chosen should make the roster. They are the top 6 backs in the league.
If we had gone with Pro Bowl roster rules from years past, Ryan Mathews definitely would have made the roster. Of the 6 backs that were selected, only Jamaal Charles is in the AFC. Mathews might be the next best back in the AFC along with Knowshon Moreno this season. If only we were going by those old rules. Ryan Mathews would be a Pro Bowler.
