The San Diego Chargers defense stepped up big time this weekend against the Denver Broncos and Peyton Manning. The game plan was on point and coach John Pagano deserves a ton of credit for getting his guys ready to play. I have been critical of Coach Pags this season, but I will not hesitate to give him props for pulling the defense together to stop the Broncos.

The defense has been playing much better to close out the season. The defense is coming together. The secondary is playing better. We aren’t talking about Derek Cox making mistakes anymore. The play at nose tackle has been better after benching Cam Thomas. Manti Te’o is getting more comfortable in his role. Donald Butler is looking healthier. Corey Liuget is beating double teams. Thomas Keiser has provided a spark.

The Chargers defense is making things happen. If they can keep up their strong play, then we can finish off the season by winning our final 4 games and a chance at getting into the playoffs. If our defense can play like that, then anything can happen in the playoffs (if we get there).
