The San Diego Chargers have demoted another player off of their starting defense. Cam Thomas is no longer the starting nose tackle for the Chargers and Sean Lissemore is getting more reps at the position, according to the UT.
The Chargers recently placed Derek Cox on the bench after his struggles and they finally made the move on Thomas. Thomas has struggled as the starting nose tackle. He hasn’t been able to command the double teams and he has been getting pushed backward on defense. Teams have been able to gash the Chargers defense all season long and one big reason has been the play at the nose.
Lissemore was brought over from the Dallas Cowboys this offseason and has been solid. The team still needs to find a solution for this position in the offseason. They will also need to make a decision on Cam Thomas. He becomes a free agent and the team will need to decide if they want to keep him around for depth or if they let him play for another roster. He is not a starter, but he could be some decent depth and he could be used on passing downs.
What would you do with Cam?
