Brandon Taylor has been sitting on the sideline for the whole season. He might get his first opportunity for some playing time this weekend against the Miami Dolphins. Jahleel Addae hurt his ankle during practice and was listed as questionable on the injury report, if he needs to take a day to rest, then it would be Brandon Taylor’s first opportunity to play some football this season.
Taylor has been listed on the inactive roster all season long, sitting last on the depth chart behind Marcus Gilchrist and Jahleel Addae. The Chargers have had a ton of issues this season with their secondary. They have been burned by receivers this season and a few fans would love to see Taylor get his chance. He has been healthy. He has been getting reps in practice, he just is stuck behind a couple of other young guys. Gilchrist and Addae are young players in the secondary, so they need to be groomed and they need to learn from their mistakes during the year.
I still would love to see Brandon Taylor get his opportunity to learn on the job. The team spent a high draft pick on him and he had some potential going into last season. He just was behind the learning curve because of his injuries, but he seems to be healthy now. He has been at practice every day and is learning the playbook. Now he just needs a chance to play.
