San Diego Chargers LB Donald Butler has missed the last 3 games with a groin injury and has not been able to practice for close to a month, but he is back on the field on Wednesday in order to prepare for Donkeys week. The Chargers could use the help on defense. Against the Washington Redskins, the team was torn apart in the running game and in the passing game.
The Chargers need to get things straightened out on the defensive side of the football. Butler has missed a lot of action and the team has not been able to have a consistent mix with the linebacking group. We could be at “full” strength this weekend against the Denver Broncos. Of course we don’t have Dwight Freeney and Melvin Ingram available, but for the players that are available to play, we could have them all there and playing against the top offense in the league.
Butler has not had his best season, but we know the potential that he brings to the defense and we know that he can make some game changing plays. We need his playmaking ability on the field. We need his leadership on the field. It is good to see him back on the practice field. We will need all playmakers available for the game against the Donkeys.
