The San Francisco 49ers plan to cut Nnamdi Asomugha today because they are going to activate Eric Wright off of their injured list. The San Diego Chargers have to be interested in Asomugha… right? We just benched our starting corner against the Washinton Redskins. We could use some help at corner and Asomugha could be that guy.

Derek Cox has been terrible and Asomugha could be a starter on our roster. Our secondary has been that terrible, that someone that has been released from the 49ers could come in and be a starter on our defense.

Asomugha has not been terrible this season, but he is getting released because of a numbers game. The 49ers need a roster spot for Eric Wright and Nnamdi is the odd man out. He is on a one year deal and is not part of the team’s future, so they went a different direction.

The Chargers could rent him for a season and see if he can create some spark for the defense. He used to be one of the top corners in this game. He would shut down top receivers in the game. He was just in the Pro Bowl for his performance in 2010. He can’t be that far off from that player.

The Chargers need to get in on this.
