Honestly, I don’t believe that the Chiefs are as good as their record says. They have caught a ton of breaks in this early season, but I feel that they will be slipping and falling soon. They have done a ton of things with smoke and mirrors to start the season. Their offense has no big plays and their quarterback is just average. Jamaal Charles is their best player on offense and teams need to put all their focus in stopping him. Their receivers can’t create any space and Smith can’t hit them down the field anyway.
Their defense has been solid, but they also can get beat with the big play. They take their risks and they definitely can get burned.
Looking back at their first 8 games of the season, I don’t know how you could face so many backup quarterbacks. They played the Browns, Texans and Titans with some mediocre quarterbacks starting for them. They faced the Raiders when they had no offensive line. They beat the Jaguars and the Giants, but so has everyone else on the planet. None of the teams have a winning record on the schedule.
We should learn a lot about the Chiefs real soon though. After this weekend’s game against the Buffalo Bills, things are going to get tough. I actually think that the Bills will be tough for them and think the Bills could win.
Here is the rest of the Chiefs schedule:
@ Buffalo Bills@Denver Broncosvs San Diego Chargersvs Denver Broncos@Washington Redskins@ Oakland Raidersvs Indianapolis Colts@ San Diego Chargers
They only have 3 more games at home and they are all against teams with winning records. 5 of their final 8 games are against teams with winning records. The 3 games against teams with losing records are all on the road.
This should be an interesting final 8 games for the Chiefs. How crazy would it be to see a team that won it’s first 8 games, then lose it’s final 8? Sounds ridiculous, but would it really surprise you?
