Should the Chargers Attempt To Trade For Josh Gordon?

The Chargers likely will not make a move at the trade deadline, but I did list a few players that the team could look into. One player that I failed to mention that could be a possibility is Cleveland Browns WR Josh Gordon. He wasn’t mentioned because we need defense. We need more depth on defense and the offense seems to be doing fine with the players that we have right now.
Before you shun the idea, think about adding another playmaker on offense. Keenan Allen is a stud. Antonio Gates is a stud. Danny Woodhead is a stud. Eddie Royal makes plays. Now add Josh Gordon onto that group. WOW.
Sometimes the best defense is a ridiculous offense. The Patriots rode that wave for a long time and Tom Telesco’s former team, the Indianapolis Colts was all about that. We have seen how a ball controlling offense that has all the potential to score can win games against top notch teams.
What would we give up for Josh Gordon? Vincent Brown and a draft pick. If they would take Vincent Brown and a 3rd, I may be really tempted to make that happen.
Brown doesn’t fit our offense any more and I bet that Norv Turner would love to have Vincent on the Browns. Gordon is a much better fit for the team and a much more explosive option on offense. Gordon has doubled the production of Brown this season and did not play in the first couple of games of the season…. and he plays for the Browns. That is the type of weapon we are looking at.
I hate giving up future draft picks, but it is worth it when you are picking up a proven commodity that has a few years on their contract at a cheap deal. Pull the trigger Tom.
