As some of you may know, I also write for our FanSided sister station NFL Spin Zone. The other editor of the site, Joe Soriano has selected his league MVP and Offensive Player of the 1/2 Year awards today and the AFC West got a lot of love in the post.
The offensive player of the first half of the season went over to the Donkeys quarterback. The league MVP award went over to our boy Philip Rivers. Rivers has been playing out of his mind to start out the season. If he was not on the roster, we would be struggling this year.
The new system that Ken Whisenhunt and Mike McCoy have prepared for him have been huge for him. The players around him have stepped up and has made him look better because of it. The offensive line is playing better. The receivers are playing better. Even the running game has been better.
Check out the analysis from Joe Soriano on the post and give him some love. Philip is starting to get that respect back around the league.
