San Diego Chargers RT D.J. Fluker was named rookie of the week for his performance against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Fluker was forced to play on the left side of the line after a couple of injuries to other players on the roster and he helped the offense move the chains in the running game and the passing game.

The Chargers were able to run the ball with Ryan Mathews. Mathews picked up his second 100+ yard performance in a row during the day. This is the second rookie of the week award that we have taken this season. Fluker won this award this week and Keenan Allen won the award earlier this season.

Tom Telesco’s drafts have looked pretty good based off of these awards lately. Now we will have to wait till Manti Te’o to pull down the award for his performance. Hopefully he can get that award against the Denver Broncos in a couple of weeks.

Congrats to D.J. for filling in on the left side and getting the rookie of the week award.
