…and the nominations for awards just keeps on coming. We must have had a good week and that makes going into the BYE week a little nicer. Ryan Mathews has been nominated for the FedEx Ground Player of the Week and now D.J. Fluker has been nominated for the Rookie of the Week. Keenan Allen won the award last week and now the 1st round draft pick has been nominated for it this week. Where you at Manti?

Fluker deserves the recognition this week with his performance against the Jacksonville Jaguars. He helped protect Philip Rivers in the passing game and helped spring open holes in the running game… and he did all that playing a position that he normally doesn’t play. He had to switch to the left side of the line in the early parts of the game and he still held his own.

He was needed to adjust to a position that he has not played regularly since high school. He practiced it some during training camp, but this was the real thing and he worked it out and helped lead the team to victory.
