The San Diego Chargers defense delivered another strong performance on Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars. John Pagano has gotten these guys turned around. The defense is benefiting from the strong play from the offense and the ball-hogging attitude that they have taken on offense. Philip Rivers and the boys have been playing keep away from other teams and they have been putting up points to give the defense plenty of rest before they get out onto the field.
The defense is finding ways to get pressure on the quarterback without their best pass rushers in the game. The defensive line is playing much stronger of late. Thomas Keiser is playing great at end/linebacker for the team and has been getting pressure off of the edge. Corey Liuget and Kendall Reyes have been aggressive and physical up front.
The Chargers held the Jaguars without a touchdown. The guys did the same to the high-powered Colts offense the week before. After the Raiders tore us up in the first half, we held them down as well.
John Pagano has done a good job and if you have visited some of my posts in the past, you know that it takes a lot for me to say this. We need Pagano and the defense to keep up the good work.
The defensive line has been a big reason for the improvement on defense. Corey Liuget and Kendall Reyes have been doing great the last few games and Pagano has been rotating different players at the defensive tackle position.
We really have shifted that defense to work around our personnel. We don’t have that nose tackle to run the 3-4 defense and we have been shifting the defense line over to get the most out of our players.
More credit out to John Pagano for making adjustments to the roster. I can respect that.
