Any time a San Diego Chargers player is sitting on the sideline with an injury during practice, we never have a good sense on if he will be able to play on the weekend. We have gone through multiple scenarios with Mike McCoy as head coach and he will not give anything away for the opponent to take. It is a good strategy, but it sucks for us fans.
D.J. Fluker is on the sideline today with a calf injury and McCoy says that he is day-to-day. Who knows how long that means, but we do know he is on the sideline and he could be there for some time.
We will have to watch his progress throughout the week and see if he is able to get onto the field to get some reps. If he sits on the sideline for the whole week, then things are not looking good.
If Fluker has to sit this weekend, then we would have to use Mike Remmers or Nick Becton to start at right tackle or we may move Jeromey Clary over to right tackle and have someone else start at right guard for us. At least we have players on the roster that can play a few positions.
