Ryan Mathews went down in the game last night with a concussion after taking a knee in the helmet last night. Mathews has been a China doll for the team and a magnet for injuries, but I can’t get mad about this one. What can you do to prevent something like that?
It sucks that we had to deal with that in the game against the Raiders, but he had to get out. We have had a ton of concussions to deal with this season already. We have lost DJ Fluker for a game already and we already have lost King Dunlap for a couple of games during the season.
Not sure how long Mathews will be out with the concussion, but we will keep an eye on the situation and his practice reports to see if he will be available for the weekend’s game.
We really have been hit hard with the injury bug this year, but we need to stop looking at that as an excuse. Every team deals with injuries.
