Watching Manti Te’o’s Snap Count

Looking over the snap counts from the game on Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys: Manti Te’o saw a whole 14 snaps and Reggie Walker played a whole 45 snaps. This definitely will be something we will be watching going into the Raiders game. Manti Te’o is the more talented player and should be getting the bulk of the playing time, but the team MIGHT be easing him back into action. MIGHT. Maybe. Hopefully that is the reason.
When Manti was on the field, he showed strong instincts and was always around the football. That is something that we all should expect from him. Against the Oakland Raiders, I expect him to be around the football and using his instincts to put himself in the proper position.
It will be interesting to see how much time he gets against the Oakland Raiders. The Raiders rely on running the football. Terrelle Pryor likes to run around and escape the pocket. Te’o may have to spy him during some plays. The Raiders will also want to pound the running game with Darren McFadden (if he is healthy enough) or Rashad Jennings. That is the part of the game that we will be watching with Manti.
In college, Alabama ran the football right at him and the offensive linemen over powered him on plays. What will Te’o do when teams run at him this year. Will he be able to fight off of the blockers? Only time will tell.
