San Diego Chargers Sign WR Lavelle Hawkins

The San Diego Chargers added WR Lavelle Hawkins onto the roster today, but did not announce the corresponding move. I wonder if it could deal with Malcom Floyd.

Hawkins played well in the preseason for the San Francisco 49ers. He was great picking up yards after the catch and was able to add a spark in the return game. With the Chargers losing Fozzy Whittaker to the Cleveland Browns, Hawkins would instanly become the team’s kickoff returner.

Hawkins might be able to help contribute on offense after he gets into the playbook a little more. Our offense would allow him to get the ball quickly and create yards after the catch.

During the preseason, he picked up a few unsportmanlike conduct penalties for celebrating a little too much on a kickoff return for a touchdown. He also made our defense look like trash on this play:
