I have loved the Keenan Allen draft selection since draft day and he came out to play on Sunday and made some nice plays against a pretty good corner. It was nice to see him come out and step up while Malcom Floyd was out.
Allen will need to keep making plays with Malcom Floyd out. We need someone on the outside to be a weapon on offense. Eddie Royal, Danny Woodhead and Antonio Gates are great options underneath.
Allen will get another chance to start this weekend against the Oakland Raiders. I am sure there are fans that remember that Oakland Raiders hat incident that he had. He can make up for that moment and tear up the Oakland Raiders defense.
I love what he has done so far in his opportunity. He has gained Philip’s trust on offense and it showed this weekend. He beat the Cowboys defense and made clutch catches. He was close to his first touchdown in the back of the end zone as well. He broke free, but Philip was unable to hit him with the throw on the run. That would have put the feather in the cap.
Beat down those Raiders this week and things will be good in Chargers Land. I expect Keenan Allen to continue to impress.
