Not sure how long Malcom Floyd will be out, but it does seem that Floyd could be out for a good amount of time. That injury did not look pretty and Floyd could be sidelined till our BYE week or even longer. There has been no official timeline on his return though. I just know that he has a neck and possibly spine issue and he is sitting in a neck brace at the moment. That sounds and looked like an injury that takes longer than a week or two to recover.

With Malcom Floyd going down, the Chargers are going to need someone to step up in the receivers unit. The next man up is going to be rookie Keenan Allen.

Allen stepped up to the plate when Malcom left against the Eagles and made a pair of grabs. He totaled 34 yards for an average of 17 yards per grab.

He has always been one of my favorite players going into the draft and I think that he has a ton of potential. He will make his rookie mistakes, but he also has the ability to make some really special plays. It will be interesting to watch his development while Malcom is gone.
