Remember when we were excited about signing Max Starks? WELP. We were wrong! He is TERRIBLE!
This preseason has exposed Max Starks as a terrible, terrible, awful, terrible pass blocker. He can’t handle the speed rush and almost got our quarterbacks killed out there. Philip Rivers, nearly killed. Charlie Whitehurst, nearly killed. Mike McCoy, nearly killed him.
Tonight, Charlie Whitehurst took a beating at the expense of Starks’ terrible play. He gave up a couple of sacks on the left side of the line. It was a beating. It was embarassing.
Starks was supposed to battle for the starting job at left tackle with King Dunlap, but Starks basically gave that job away. There really wasn’t any competition.
Starks can’t be part of this roster. Mike Harris has to be the reserve tackle on the roster. We saw Harris last season and he has learned a lot since then, but it still speaks volumes when he is the man on the roster to overtake Starks.
I expect to see Starks on the unemployment line soon. He probably will get a call from the Pittsburgh Steelers all over again. That is just what he does.
