San Diego Chargers WR Malcom Floyd went down and busted his knee yesterday and feared the worst. He started thinking that his career could be done. That is how bad the injury seemed when it started flying all over the internet.:
“It was scary,” said the veteran receiver. “You think about your family, think about your kids and think about your career… I came down pretty funny. I was pretty contorted. That stuff goes through your head when you go through something like that.”
All kinds of emotions must have been flying through his head during that brief moment of time. He dodged a bullet. The diagnosis for the injury is nothing close to the ACL injury that was feared by many. He is going to sit out the rest of the preseason games and will be out of practice for a while, but he will get right back on the field.
It is crazy to think that Floyd could have been done just like that. An injury like that could have put him on the shelf forever. I would have hated to see a guy lose his dream that quickly. Look forward to seeing him back on the field making acrobatic grabs all over the field again.
