The San Diego Chargers have a more family friendly atmosphere for the players this year. Coach Mike McCoy has put an extra emphasis on family. Here is Nick Hardwick writing a blog about the extra emphasis:
One thing I love about Coach McCoy is how much he emphasizes family. It’s really nice to see my wife Jayme and son Hudson at the end of practices. It’s great that coach wants the families to be involved by stressing a family friendly environment. The family tent is bigger than it’s been in the past and he’s asked guys to bring their families out here. And it means so much after a hard day at practice to see my family for even 20 or 30 minutes. It makes training camp easier to get through. – Chargers.com
For the family men on the roster, it must mean a lot to have everyone out there for them during practices. I am sure Philip is able to hang out a little longer since the fam is already out there with him and some of the guys can bond even more with the families out on the sideline. Give a point to Coach McCoy on this one.
