The San Diego Chargers are kicking around the possibilities of doing HBO’s Hard Knocks next season. Tom Telesco had said that he would be interested in doing the show, but didn’t want to do it in his rookie year. It would be too much of a distraction for him and the rest of the team.
Come year 2 though…. the possibilities are there. Kevin Acee is reporting that the team is “mulling” the idea.
For the players and the coaches, it must be a huge distraction. Why would you want a camera invading your space like that?
For the Chargers fans, it would be OUTSTANDING! I would love to see more of Philip Rivers and Antonio Gates. I would love to see these guys putting in work during training camp. I would love to get to know the people in the organization a little better.
For the Chargers business, it could be a huge boost also. Putting the team on that forum and getting that exposure could be huge for the business.
In the end, if it becomes too much of a distraction for the players and team on their route to the Super Bowl, then we don’t need it around us. Otherwise, I would love it!
