The Green Bay Packers could be looking to trade RB Alex Green during training camp. The Packers could be looking to hand over the running back duties to rookie Eddie Lacy and that could leave Green expendable. The Chargers might be interested in the back out of Hawaii. Green was a 3rd round draft pick for the Packers that was slowed with an ACL injury for his first season and then he struggled in his return to the field. Not everyone can return to glory like Adrian Peterson. Some people are obviously human.

Green has potential and in the Chargers backfield, there is room for a backup runningback. Danny Woodhead and Ronnie Brown are better used as 3rd down backs. If Tom Telesco doesn’t want to go the route of Brandon Jacobs, Willis McGahee or Michael Turner, he can go with a younger back in Alex Green.

I still believe that the Chargers should bring in another runningback. Ryan Mathews can be a stud, but he still hasn’t proven that he can do it yet. He has been given numerous opportunities and has not come through. If he fails again this year, we really don’t have someone to pick up the slack. Green could be available with a late round draft pick and could be someone who could contribute immediately.
