Jackie Battle and LeRon McClain will be coming back to their old stomping grounds. Players that face former teams seem to make big things happen. Remember when Antwan Barnes terrorized the Baltimore Ravens last season? This time Battle and McClain can release the thunder on their former mates. Maybe Jared Gaither can come back for the game also to help.

Demorrio Williams is another former Chief that can offer a little more insight on what Romeo Crennel wants to do on defense. Each former Chiefs player on the roster should have a little extra incentive to perform at a high level and they can give us some insider info on what they do in that locker room.

The biggest weakness on the Chiefs is their quarterback Matt Cassel. The Chargers defense can focus in on Jamaal Charles and force Cassel to try and beat them. As Arrowhead Addict editor Patrick Allen put it, Eric Weddle has a Matt Cassel pass magnet hidden under his clothes. We will need Weddle to have a great game and use those magnet powers to bring in interceptions.

The latest injury report shows that WR Dwayne Bowe is questionable for the game. If he is unable to go, that would be a huge blow for that passing game. If Cassel has nobody to throw to (not like he could make the throw anyway), the Chargers defense can focus in on stopping the Chiefs top weapon, RB Jamaal Charles.

The Chargers already do a good job of slowing the running game already, but if there is no passing threat, the defense should be able to get it’s groove going. Maybe Melvin Ingram has his breakout game!

The defense will win this game. They need to make sure Cassel doesn’t play out of his mind and slows down Charles. They should be able to get that done.
