Ryan Mathews is expected back at practice this week. He was limited in practice the last couple of weeks, but signs are pointing that he could be ready to go on Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons.
Norv Turner has been secretive about the injuries on the roster. Jared Gaither has been day-to-day all season. It was a surprise to most when Antonio Gates was not active for the game against the Titans. How ready is Ryan Mathews?
When Ryan Mathews first broke his clavicle, the game against the Falcons was the targeted return date.
His return would be a boost to the offense. Jackie Battle did well against the Titans shouldering some of the load, but Mathews has the threat to hit the home run.
The offense has been using screen passes and swing passes a lot early in the season. Ryan is a much bigger threat than Ronnie Brown and Curtis Brinkley on those plays.
Keep an eye on those injury reports and see where Mathews stands throughout the week.
