Why is this game so late? Why is it a 7pm start time? The game is going to finish around 10:30 tonight. That is just ridonkulous. Are you really going to stay up late to see how Edwin Baker does? (YES)

Philip Rivers and Antonio Gates will get some playing time against the 49ers. It shouldn’t be that long, but we never know with Norv at the controls. Mike Harris better protect Philip’s backside. Maybe Philip can leave a game without having a turnover in his stat line.

Can Robert Meachem just connect once on a nice play with Philip? Just one good play could give ME some confidence. The whole starting offense needs to string together some good plays also.

Tonight is the last chance for some of these players to showcase their talents to the San Diego Chargers and the rest of the league. Cut day is tomorrow and the players that are on the bubble need to make their final impression.

This game is for players like Jackie Battle, Edwin Baker, Curtis Brinkley, Mike Willie, Richard Goodman, Andrew Gachkar, Bront Bird, DeAndre Presley and other guys on the bubble. Who will step up?

Who do you want to see have a big game today?

I will be rooting for Mike Willie to step up big to make a push for that last receiver spot. I would love to see Ladarius Green have an impact also. Both guys have the potential to do some good things for the offense in the future. Willie has shown his potential in the preseason, while Green has been a ghost.

I don’t want to see a field goal contest like last week. If we do, wifey will be begging me to flip the channel. I just might oblige if we are settling on seeing Novak and Kaeding duel it out.
