Jared Gaither has not been practicing since the first day of training camp. He has been bothered by a bad back and has only been able to do work on the rehab field for the last few days. He got an MRI today and the results have not been revealed. The Chargers plan to play the final exhibition game without him and are preparing to play the first game of the season without him.
Get ready to see more of undrafted free agent Mike Harris starting at left tackle. Harris will have to perform much better than he did against Minnesota. He has been a standout in camp, but the games start to count in just a couple of weeks. The Chargers will have to keep an extra tackle on the roster also with the uncertainty surrounding Gaither. Some defensive lineman, linebacker or tight end could be screwed out of a roster spot because of this injury.
