Losing Vincent Brown will be a tough blow for the San Diego Chargers. Brown was injured tonight in the preseason game against the Dallas Cowboys after scoring a touchdown. He broke his left ankle on the play and it needssurgery. The recovery time is not known at this time.

Brown was expected to contribute big into this offense. He was developing a good chemistry win all the quarterbacks on the roster. He was putting on a show in the preseason and could have started pushing Robert Meachem for playing time. Now, we need to find someone to fill those shoes.

Getting Eddie Royal back on the field would definitely be a move in the right direction. Royal has not gotten onto the field in the preseason and Micheal Spurlock has taken a lot of the snaps out there. He could step in and make some plays out of the slot. He should be able to get back at practice this week.

Philip Rivers and Robert Meachem need to get on the same page also. Tonight, Meachem had his man beat deep, but Philip was not able to get the ball out to him and it ended up as an interception. They need to get on the same page sooner rather than later.

The injury could also open up another spot on the roster for a receiver. Spurlock may have won a job with his play and Richard Goodman could take a roster spot as well. Roscoe Parrish was able to get into the game today and he looked like he was moving at a different speed.

There are also a couple undrafted free agent wide receivers that could be competing for a roster spot. Mike Willie and Taylor Embree both have the size and have contributed this preseason. This gives them a chance to make the roster now.

Which receiver do you think this injury helps out the most?
