Aaron Rodgers and those cheeseheads are coming to town for a preseason showdown. We likely will only see a couple of series from the starters of both teams. That likely means just seeing Philip Rivers, Antonio Gates and Ryan Mathews for the first quarter of the game. Hopefully we see the defense knock Rodgers around a little bit in that first quarter of play.
Then the ball will go to Kevin O’Connell and Jarrett Lee to take over the offense. We will have to wait and see which players step up to be the next preseason star.
My predictions will go to Ladarius Green to make some big plays during the preseason. He should be able to break free for some nice plays on offense. Also, Micheal Spurlock could make some good things happen on special teams and on offense.
I will definitely be watching the battle at runningback. Mike Hayes, Edwin Baker, Curtis Brinkley and Jackie Battle are all fighting for a spot on the roster. I want Hayes to get a roster spot, but it seems that we are running short on available spots.
On defense, watch the secondary and see how Shareece Wright has done this offseason. Last season he didn’t provide much, but a full offseason has given him more opportunities. We also will want to see how the rookie Brandon Taylor looks in the secondary.
It is go time! Tomorrow the preseason begins! Wack the Pack!!!
