When Do We Start to Get Concerned with The Big Lazy?

Jared Gaither picked up the nickname “The Big Lazy” while playing football in Baltimore. He struggled through a foot injury in 2010 and Coach John Harbaugh felt that Gaither overplayed the injury.

In that same year in Baltimore, Gaither hadto fight through back issues. The pain was so constant that he had to sit out the whole season on injured reserve. He was diagnosed with a “thoracic disk injury.” He became a free agent in 2011 and all teams were concerned with his injury till he eventually caught on with the Kansas City Chiefs. They cut him and now he is a San Diego Charger.

The first day of training camp, Gaither had to be taking off on a cart with a “whole body cramp.” Overplaying a cramp a bit much?

Gaither already has a history with a back injury, sitting out a whole season with that injury, and now the back is acting up again with back spasms causing him to miss practice. He has only been able to participate in one practice since training camp started. This seems like something that could linger around for the whole season, but Michael Gehlken says that the Chargers are not concerned.

How long do we wait till we start to worry? Too late, I already started!
