Chargers Training Camp opened up today for the rookies and a few of the veterans showed up to get some early work. Philip Rivers, Charlie Whitehurst, Jonas Mouton, Larry English, Roscoe Parrish and Jackie Battle were all in attendance for the first day of training camp.

We all could have predicted that Philip would be at practice. He is addicted and can’t stay away from the field. That is what we love about him.

Clipboard Charlie had spent the last couple of seasons in Seattle and he is taking a few extra days to get comfortable with the playbook.

Mouton and English both are coming off of injuries from last season and are putting in some early work. Hopefully they wrap English up in bubble wrap.

Parrish and Battle are trying to impress the coaching staff by showing up early to win a roster spot. They get a jump on the competition.

If you want to get that Jackie Battle jersey made, he was sporting the number 44 today.

Randy McMichael tweeted that he was at the airport on his way to San Diego and he could be participating as early as tomorrow. The veterans are scheduled to check-in on Wednesday.
