True, to a degree, as the Chargers’ rookies have absorbed a tsunami of new information, play-calls, terminology and a little bit of seemingly everything else as they make the transition into the NFL.

SAN DIEGO —- Nate Kaeding was at Chargers Park late Monday morning, doing box jumps a track star would be proud of. The Chargers kicker can flat elevate, using the lower body power and spring expected of a player at his position.

On Tuesday, NFL owners approved an equipment change during their Atlanta meetings, requiring players to wear knee and thigh pads beginning in 2013.

Every teammate can rightly call Philip Rivers a friend as much as they can call him a leader. Rivers considers filling all three of those roles the most significant aspect of being a quarterback.
